Why I am running

My friends, most of us are upset, angry, and afraid of what is happening at the federal level of the U.S. government, and how national policies are detrimentally affecting us, our neighbors, our communities, and the great State of Oregon, as well as across the U.S.

Republican Representative Cliff Bentz, the incumbent in Oregon’s Congressional District 2, is part of the problem.

He has been following in the footsteps of President Trump, and true to form, fell in line to vote for the deeply unpopular “Big Bad Bill”, which hurts Oregonians, and is dramatically negatively impacting this state and its communities.

What we have here is a failure to connect… and to represent Oregonians and their voices in this district.

Which is why I am announcing my candidacy as a Democratic candidate for this seat in the United States House of Representatives with a commitment to listening to everyday citizens, their needs, and resisting this catastrophic fall into bad policies and lack of representation of you and me envisioned by the current federal administration.

What I am not: A career politician.

But I have experience. And drive. And integrity. And will be undertaking a listening tour to better understand what issues face Oregonians that need to be heard at the national level.

I also have a desire to unite Oregonians together to work towards a better tomorrow.

 

 

I’ve been a small business owner for 18 years who has helped people of all walks of life at all career levels in all industries, which has given me the equivalent of a secret MBA because I now possess a broad knowledge of business and policy. I’ve also been involved in previous campaigns and know this is a monumental task.

But I am undeterred.

Throughout the years, I have been (and still am) a frequent industry and community volunteer, and care about getting all of our voices heard at the federal level.

I see this seat as the ultimate opportunity to work towards the public good.

People that know me see me as a down-to-earth, compassionate person who always works to find the light, truth, and empathy. I believe that government should always embody these qualities to its citizens.

My goal is to serve the community, make a difference, and create a new Dawn for Oregon that brings transparency, accessibility, and accountability.

I believe in We the People.

I believe in neighbors, I believe in community, and I believe in putting US (you and me) back into the U.S.A.

Our voices need to be represented in Washington, D.C.

My vision is to take a community-based, common-sense, and fiscally-accountable approach that will bring all of us back together so we can get to work fixing the bigger problems all Oregonians are facing, instead of playing politics, worrying about the next re-election bid and taking money from big business in exchange for favors, or kowtowing to billionaires or want-to-be kings.

I will embody integrity, morality, and transparency, and do my darndest to restore the people’s voice back into being represented in Washington, D.C. and to get the work serving the citizens of Oregon that needs to be done… done.

It is a new dawn for Oregon.
